Over time, even good paving starts looking tired. Dust builds up in the joints, algae or dark patches can show after rainy periods, and weeds start popping up where joint sand has thinned out.
Sealing isn’t just about making paving “shiny” — it’s about restoring the look, making cleaning easier, and protecting the surface from stains and weathering.
At Premium Paving, we do paving cleaning and sealing across Zimbabwe, including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru, and other major towns.
We work on interlocks (interlocking pavers) as well as other paving types, helping homeowners and businesses refresh driveways, patios, walkways, courtyards, and yard paving without having to replace the surface.

When Sealing Makes Sense (And When It Doesn’t)
Sealing works best when your paving is structurally fine — meaning the surface is stable and level — but it’s looking dirty, faded, or constantly growing weeds in the joints.
If the paving is sinking or uneven, sealing won’t fix that — it’s better to do a lift-and-relay repair first, then clean and seal once everything is stable. We’ll always guide you honestly so you don’t spend money in the wrong order.
What Cleaning & Sealing Helps With
Cleaning and sealing is commonly done to:
brighten up dull, dusty paving
reduce stubborn stains (oil spots, tyre marks, rust marks)
slow down weed growth (especially if joints are re-sanded properly)
help paving shed dirt and make maintenance easier
protect the surface from weathering over time
It’s a great option when you want the property to look “new again” without doing a full re-installation.
How Our Paving Cleaning Process Works
We keep the approach practical and results-focused. The process usually includes:
deep cleaning the surface to remove built-up dirt and grime
targeted treatment for algae/dark patches where needed
cleaning joints properly so re-sanding can hold
letting the surface dry to the correct level before sealing
The aim is a clean, consistent finish — not just “wet paving that looks darker for one day.”
Sealing Interlocks (What It Does for You)
A proper sealer helps protect the surface and makes future cleaning easier. On driveways and high-use areas, it can also reduce how quickly the paving absorbs stains.
Sealing also gives the paving a more finished, uniform look — especially on interlocks that have faded slightly or have patchy tones from dust and exposure.
(We can discuss the finish you prefer — some clients like a more natural look, others like a slightly richer “enhanced colour” finish.)
Joint Re-Sanding (Important for Weed Control)
A lot of people think sealing alone stops weeds, but weeds usually start because joint sand has been washed out or disturbed. If you want better weed control, the joint work matters.
Where needed, we re-sand joints properly so the paving locks in better, looks neater, and stays cleaner for longer.
Ideal Areas for Cleaning & Sealing
We commonly clean and seal:
driveways (oil marks, tyre traffic, dust build-up)
patios and entertainment areas
walkways and side passages
courtyards and yard paving
commercial entrances and parking sections
If you’re selling a property or renovating, this is one of the quickest ways to improve how the outside looks without major construction.
Cleaning & Sealing Pricing in Zimbabwe
Pricing depends on:
total area size
the condition of the paving (light dirt vs deep staining)
whether joints need re-sanding
the type of sealer used and the finish you prefer
