A neat driveway changes the whole feel of a home — it looks finished, it stays cleaner in the rainy season, and you don’t end up with dusty gravel everywhere when it’s dry.
In Zimbabwe, most homeowners lean toward interlocks (interlocking pavers) and paving bricks / concrete pavers because they’re strong, they look premium, and if a section ever sinks later, it can usually be repaired without ripping up the entire driveway.
At Premium Paving, we install and repair driveway paving across Zimbabwe, including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru, and other major towns.
Whether you need a brand-new driveway, you’re replacing old cracked concrete, or your current paving has started sinking or spreading at the edges, we’ll guide you on the right paver choice and do the groundwork properly so the finish stays solid over time.

New Driveway Paving or Repairs — We Do Both
Some driveways are built from scratch, especially on new homes or renovations. Other projects are upgrades — the driveway already exists, but it’s uneven, cracked, dusty, or just looks tired. We do both.
If your existing pavers are still in good condition and the issue is sinking or unevenness, a lift-and-relay repair can often restore the driveway neatly. We lift the affected section, correct the base and levels, and relay the paving so it feels solid again and looks consistent.
Choosing the Right Pavers for a Zimbabwe Driveway
Most driveway paving in Zimbabwe is done using interlocking pavers (interlocks), paving bricks, or concrete pavers. The best option depends on the look you want and the load the driveway will carry.
A simple way to think about it:
60mm pavers are commonly used for most residential driveways (normal car use).
80mm pavers are better when the driveway will take heavier loads, frequent deliveries, or commercial-style traffic.
We’ll advise based on your driveway use, slope, and turning areas (where tyres put the most stress on paving).
The Pattern Matters More Than People Think
For driveways, it’s not only the pavers — it’s how they’re laid. Driveways experience turning pressure, which is why a driveway that “looks perfect” at first can start opening up at the edges later if the pattern and restraint aren’t right.
Where a strong interlock is needed, we typically recommend a layout that holds tight under vehicle movement. The goal is simple: a driveway that stays neat and doesn’t creep or spread with time.
Ground Prep, Levels & Drainage (This Is What Makes It Last)
The paving you see is only the top layer. The real difference between a driveway that lasts and one that starts dipping is underneath — the base build, compaction, and water flow.
Before we pave, we assess the ground condition and the slope, then we prepare and compact the base properly and set levels so water runs off naturally.
That prevents puddling, wash-away, and soft spots that lead to sinking later — especially around entrances, corners, and areas where vehicles turn.
Edging and Kerbing for a Clean, Locked-In Finish
Neat edges make the driveway look premium, but they’re not just for looks — edging (and where needed, kerbing) helps keep the paving locked in place. Without solid edge restraint, driveways often start spreading at the sides over time.
We finish edges cleanly so the driveway holds shape and ties in neatly with walkways, courtyards, boundary walls, and garden lines.
Driveway Paving for Homes, Complexes and Small Commercial Properties
We pave driveways for:
residential homes (single-family and multi-vehicle driveways)
estates and complexes (shared lanes and entrances)
small commercial properties (parking bays and access areas)
If the driveway connects to parking or a yard area, we can match finishes so the whole exterior feels like one consistent, well-planned space.
Driveway Paving Pricing in Zimbabwe
Pricing depends on driveway size, paver choice (including thickness), and how much groundwork is needed. The main cost differences usually come from:
whether you’re paving over an existing surface or starting from scratch
the condition of the ground and the amount of base build needed
edging/kerbing detail and drainage considerations
access to the site for materials and equipment
If you’d like, we can quote as supply & fix, or labour only (if you already have pavers and materials). Either way, the quote is clearer once we know the size and site condition.
